meet your teacher
Meagan Mahaffy is an artist, educator, intuitive tarot reader, and the founder of art gurl, a creative community at the intersection of art, wellness, imagination, and self-discovery. Her work emphasizes creativity, play, and visual reflection as tools for self-understanding and wellness. After a decade of program development and interpretation work at the Smithsonian Institution, Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, Meagan founded art gurl, where she teaches members how to reconnect with their innate creativity as a tool for healing.
when can i join?

do i have to live in nyc?
no!! art gurl academy is a global community, our meetings are virtual and we have members from all over the world.
what if i have to miss a live session?
that’s okay!! we will miss you. masterclasses are recorded, so you can relive the magic. Just make sure you rsvp so you’ll be emailed the recording! creative rituals exist only in the moment, but don’t worry, we will update you in the group chat!!
what art materials do i need?
recommended supplies: sketchbook, colored pencils, watercolors and brushes, glue stick and collage materials, scissors, paint markers or regular markers, pastels
if you don’t have art supplies, its okay! you can do most of the episodes with just a pen and paper. as you start to get more into the art making tool, you may find you are ready to introduce new mediums into your practice, and that’s great! but you don’t have to start with anything crazy
do i have to know about art?
no!!! you’re creative, regardless of your relationship to art. this program is about reconnecting to your creativity in order to more deeply attune to your intuition.
can i join if i am an artist?
yes! this is for anyone who is ready to transform.
can i join if i don’t identify as a woman?
yes!! art gurl is a safe and inclusive space where we hold space for deep emotional transformation. all gender expressions are welcome.
